The San Diego Railroad Museum completed restoration of the SP # 2353 in August 1995. She had her "Opening Day" shortly thereafter. I was there.

Woodland

The Yolo Shortline completed a restoration of the SP 1233 in the spring of 1996. This was her maiden passenger run in May 1996.

 

 

Yreka

Yreka Western RR, the Blue Goose, on a summer passenger run. This railroad has been in continuous operation for over a hundred years and continues to be a working freight railroad. But the big attraction is the Blue Goose passenger train in the summer time.

Felton

The Roaring Camp and Big Trees Railroad operates a built for tourists 3 foot narrow gauge road with two opertional steam engines.

Dixianna, a 2 tr Shay

 

And #2, a 2 tr Heisler that I believe is the only operational Heisler in the state.

McCloud

The McCloud RR completed a rebuild of their #25 2-6-2 for summer of 1998 operations. It is a very friendly railroad.

Fillmore

The Fillmore & Western RR makes it's living as the movie train for Hollywood but they also give rides to the public. The 2-8-0 #51 is the Great Western #51 and is leased from the Cripple Creek RR in Colorado.
