For a number of years I have traveled throughout the western part of the United States searching out all surviving steam locomotives. I have found and photographed somewhere near 400 to date. I have them all, the good, the bad and the ugly. Well, not all as more than a few remain missing in action. And more than a few of the photos are pretty ugly to boot. I was often presented with pretty distressing conditions. I will leave those photos off the site but have them for historical records. I have photographed engines throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, and Washington.
